Aiming high for Shamrock Rovers

Citywise members will act as ballboys at Rovers' upcoming game against Sligo next week, Unfortunately, all ballboy positions for the Madrid match are filled but we don't mind the consolation prize!
The match programme will explain a little about the work that Citywise carries out in west Tallaght and elsewhere.

Aiming higher – no matter what you are at
Citywise on Fortunestown Way in Tallaght is a youth centre with a difference.
It provides a range of activities: sports such as soccer, canoeing and hiking; club activities such as music, computers and cookery; afterschool activities such as study, homework help and academic classes; and a range of leadership training opportunities in youth work and the President’s Award. The difference is that it just doesn’t run programmes. It tries to get young people to aim higher, to make the best use of their talents, whatever these might be.
From eight to eighteen, young people are welcome. There they learn how to work well, to develop new pastimes and to make new friends. They may even make it to college as a result of the help they receive.
Citywise also has fulltime education for young men aged 12 to 16 years who find themselves outside of the school system. This programme, called Midschool, has been a great support in helping many find their educational feet again so that they do their Junior Certificate and then move on to better things.
Citywise is always looking for support, as it needs capable volunteers to help out in its wide range of activities, and for companies and individuals to give it some financial support.
Further information can be had from their website at www.citywise.ie. Citywise currently has a campaign to put 50 canoes on the Liffey for this year’s 50th anniversary Liffey Descent, and also has some members committed to a round-Ireland fundraising cycle during August.
