We often talk about long-term impact, about what happens when young people are supported not just for a moment, but across key stages of their lives. Our latest short video, featuring Aaron, brings that idea to life.
The video follows Aaron’s journey with Citywise, from his earliest encounters with the organisation to the role he holds today. Rather than focusing on one programme or moment, it reflects the cumulative effect of years of support, opportunity, and connection. Aaron’s experience shows how sustained engagement can help young people build confidence, develop skills, and begin to see new possibilities for their future. What makes Aaron’s story particularly powerful is its continuity. Citywise was a consistent presence throughout his childhood and teenage years, a place he returned to again and again as his needs, interests, and ambitions evolved. The video highlights how different programmes, mentors, and experiences combined over time to support his growth, both academically and personally.
Now a member of the Citywise staff team, Aaron offers a perspective shaped by his own experience. His journey from student to staff member reflects the value of role models who truly understand the challenges young people may face. It also demonstrates how Citywise’s impact extends beyond participation, creating pathways for young people to remain connected and contribute in meaningful ways. Importantly, Aaron’s story is not an exception. As the video suggests, he is one of many Citywise alumni who continue to engage with the organisation long after completing programmes.
The video captures more than an individual journey, it reflects what Citywise aims to achieve every day: providing young people with consistent support, a sense of belonging, and the confidence to shape their own futures.
