Over the years, Citywise has been proud to take part in a wide range of EU-funded projects that have enriched our organisation, strengthened our programmes, and, most importantly, created meaningful opportunities for the young people we work with. These projects have allowed us to collaborate with partners across Europe, share best practice, and learn from diverse approaches to youth work, education, and social inclusion. Through this ongoing engagement, we have seen first-hand how EU initiatives can support local communities while fostering a broader sense of European connection and solidarity.
We are delighted to share that, thanks to the brilliant work of our colleagues, and the generous support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through Ireland’s Communicating Europe Initiative, we now have a short video that captures and celebrates Citywise Education’s relationship with the European Union. The video reflects not only the projects themselves, but also the people, partnerships, and shared values at the heart of this work.
One of the most rewarding aspects of our involvement in EU-funded projects has been the opportunity to host passionate and dedicated ESC volunteers from across Europe. Their energy, perspectives, and commitment have enriched our programmes and brought new ideas into our youth centres. At the same time, these exchanges have created lasting connections and friendships that extend far beyond the duration of any single project.
Equally important has been the opportunity for our young people to travel, explore Europe, and broaden their horizons. Through exchanges, training courses, and international collaborations, young people have gained confidence, developed new skills, and experienced different cultures and ways of life. These experiences often have a lasting impact, helping them to see new possibilities for their futures and to feel part of something bigger than their immediate surroundings.
We are deeply grateful for the partnerships, learning, and opportunities that EU-funded projects continue to create for Citywise Education. They have strengthened our work, supported our mission, and opened doors for both staff and young people alike. We look forward to continuing this journey, building new collaborations, and ensuring that young people remain at the centre of everything we do.
