Recently, Daire Hennessy, CEO of Citywise Education featured on national television as a guest on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM morning show.

Daire took part in a panel discussing the prevalence of grinds in the Irish education system. The appearance gave a spotlight to the work we do at Citywise, empowering young people through education, mentoring, and community support. He spoke about our mission to create opportunities for young people to grow, learn, and lead—especially in areas where those opportunities can sometimes be hard to come by. What we do is so much more than ‘grinds’ but our work plays an important role in tackling the uneven playing field found across the education system.

Last year 95% of our 6th year young people went on to further and higher education, so it's making a really significant difference in the community.
In the immediate area to Citywise only 7% of people have a college degree...so it goes to show what can be achieved with the right support and resources.

Media coverage like this helps amplify the importance of Citywise programmes and reminds a wider audience that with the right environment and encouragement, young people can achieve amazing things.

The system works, the proof is in the pudding. Now 50% of our volunteers are past participants of the programme.
