Faces of Citywise - A member of our lovely Reception Team!

This week’s #FacesofCitywise takes a quick glimpse into what really goes on behind the scenes, especially the hard work and dedication that goes into the set-up and organisation of our programmes. Kasia has been a part of the Citywise team since February 2020 and has been a great addition to our work family. She is always available to give a helping hand, no matter what the task!

“I started working in Citywise back in February 2020, with my main responsibilities seen behind the reception desk. Outside of work, I am a busy mom of three and a proud cat owner.” Kasia’s cat, Guiness, is a major talking point in many of our afterschool programmes. At Citywise, there is very little that we do not do! Our members and staff alike both love their pets. Our next potential programme could even be Pet Club? What do you all think?!

“I was a stay-at-home mom for a few years prior to taking up the position in Citywise. Two years after my last position expired in my previous job, I felt it was time to go back to work. I saw a Community Employment position advertised on the Citywise Education Facebook page and decided to apply for it! I was aware of the work Citywise did and felt like it would be a perfect place for me to work.” Citywise also links with the inner-city based South Dublin Voluntary Groups Ltd in providing Community Employment opportunities in across the city.

“Citywise is full of crazy, creative, enthusiastic people and it’s a real pleasure to be a part of something so beneficial to the community of West Tallaght!”

“The thing I like most about this place is that every child leaves this building with a big smile on their face.” No matter what kind of a day you come into the centre having, you are guaranteed to leave with a big smile on your face.

“Volunteers and leaders are very committed to the work that they do. Many of them have been attending afterschool programmes from a young age, progressing on to our Leadership programme, allowing them to become the leaders themselves; something a lot of our young members aspire to be! There is no doubt in my mind that these inspiring young leaders are definitely amazing role models for the next generation!”
